Within the R&D Division Transportation of the institute OFFIS, I coordinate the development of design methods for embedded control by managing the technology cluster "Dependable System Design" with about 25 researchers.

Security

I am the scientific director for the topic "Security", where OFFIS develops tool-supported threat and risk analysis methods and supports the design of integrated solutions e.g. in the logistic domain.

Current Projects

Currently, I am managing the Project IMoST - Integrated Modeling for Safe Transportation - which addresses the construction and analysis of holistic models of road traffic including the driver behavior.

Within the 6th FP integrated project InteGRail, I am contributing to the preparation of a standard proposal for an ontology for railways. This ontology shall provide a terminology system bridging national as well as domain boundaries, and support rail operation through flexible and powerful mechanical reasoning.
